Double Bay is located on Hanson Island off the north east shore of Vancouver Island.
About 14 miles to the west is Port McNeill, the closest large town on Vancouver Island. Alder Bay or Telegraph Cove lie about 5 miles, by water from Double Bay Resort.

For anyone wishing to drive there is parking available at Alder Bay Campsite, and is about six miles south of Port McNeill. Parking costs about $5.00 per day, per unit. Both have good cement boat launching ramps for anyone bringing their own boat. Moorage fees at Double Bay are $.70 per foot, per day. Transportation from Double Bay Resort to Hanson Island via water taxi can be arranged for $50.00 CDN, return fare. It is a good idea to overnight in Campbell River on the day before arrival and drive the last 2½ hours in the morning.
